Top scorer Natasha Flint is one of nine players who have extended their contracts with Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Leicester City.
The 24-year-old netted 17 goals in 20 games for The Foxes as they raced to the FA Women’s Championship title last season and Flint has today penned a contract extension with the club.
Leicester City have confirmed that the striker is one of nine players to extend their terms for the new season. Goalkeepers Kirstie Levell and Demi Lambourne will continue to battle for the number one jersey after extending their deals while defensive pair Sam Tierney and Esmee de Graaf are now also under contract for the coming season. Sophie Barker, Hannah Cain, Lachante Paul and Paige Bailey-Gayle are the other players who have extended their deals.
The next step for Leicester City could be to announce some summer signings. The Foxes have been linked with a number of players this summer including defenders Abbie McManus and Jemma Purfield and forward Jess Sigsworth. Manager Jonathan Morgan’s summer recruitment is likely to go beyond three new faces.
Leicester City have kept their transfer deals under wraps in previous seasons, announcing new arrivals late in the window. With the identities of some new signings potentially known, the club could announce player movement earlier this year.
