Forward Danielle Carter has confirmed that she is leaving Reading this summer after one year at The Madejski Stadium.
The 28-year-old attacker joined The Royals last summer after a spell with Arsenal which had spanned more than a decade had come to an end.
Carter was not amongst the initial list of Reading departures this summer, however, the player took to her personal Twitter account this afternoon to confirm that she will not be spending a second season with The Royals.
Although my time with Reading was short lived I just want to thank everyone who has supported me during my first season back from injury.

Carter joined Reading after overcoming two Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries which had kept her out of action for former club Arsenal for most of the previous two years. The forward enjoyed an injury-free campaign with latest club Reading, featuring in all-but-one of their Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches in which she scored three goals.
With Reading starting their preparations for the 2021/2022 campaign, Carter has announced her departure, leaving a further place in the squad to be addressed by manager Kelly Chambers.
Chambers has already signed four players so far this summer, those being Natasha Dowie, Gemma Evans, Faye Bryson and Chloe Peplow and further quality signings are almost certain to be made before the start of the new season.
