Leicester City have completed their second transfer in as many days with the addition of former Everton defender Georgia Brougham according to reports on The Foxes’ official website.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Birmingham City and the player is believed to have been offered a permanent deal at St Andrew’s but she has instead opted to join newly-promoted Leicester City.
Brougham featured in 19 of Birmingham City’s 21 matches in last season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League, helping the club avoid relegation against the odds. The player’s solid performances have not gone unnoticed by Leicester City boss Jonathan Morgan who has swooped for her signature under the noses of loan club Birmingham City.
After completing her move to Leicester City, Brougham said “I’m delighted to be here. Obviously, it’s a great club, I’ve heard very good things about it and I just can’t wait to get started.
“When I came down and spoke to Jonathan (Morgan), and seeing the facilities and then the ambition that he spoke about, what they want to do with the women’s team. It was just a no brainer.”
Brougham becomes Leicester City’s third signing of the summer transfer window following the recent additions of forward Jess Sigsworth and defender Jemma Purfield.
