Former Chelsea midfielder Charlotte Fleming has completed a move to London City Lionesses according to reports on The Pride’s official website.
The 19-year-old joins the club following a spell with FA Women’s Championship title-winners Leicester City during the second half of last season.
Fleming made just one appearance for The Foxes in the FA Women’s Championship in what was a frustrating period for the youngster. The midfielder will now be looking to kick on with new club London City Lionesses.
After completing her move to The Pride, Fleming said “I’m really excited. It’s a club where all the players and staff have a common goal and share the same values.
“Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and there is such a positive vibe about the club. I can’t wait to develop as a player within this professional environment.”
Fleming is a former member of the Chelsea academy system and the player went on to make her senior debut for the club in their 2-1 FA Women’s Continental League Cup group stage victory over second tier side Lewes at a rain swept Dripping Pan late in 2019. A lack of game time followed resulting in a move to Leicester City midway through last season. Fleming clearly has real talent and while her move to Leicester City was a tough one, she now has a real opportunity to impress with new club London City Lionesses.
