Former Arsenal midfielder Amelia Hazard has joined Lewes according to reports on The Rookettes’ official website.
The 20-year-old spent a short period with The Gunners between 2018 and 2019 before later going on to feature in the FA Women’s Championship with London Bees.
Hazard made 30 appearances for The Bees in the FA Women’s Championship over the course of two seasons, scoring four goals. She was unable to help the club to avoid relegation to the third tier last season.
It has today been confirmed that Hazard will spend a third season in the FA Women’s Championship with the player having completed a move to Lewes. She becomes Lewes boss Simon Parker’s seventh addition of the summer transfer window.
After completing her move, Hazard said “I’m delighted to have signed for Lewes, I can’t wait for this new chapter to begin.”
Hazard is very much a raw talent with bags of potential. The player has represented England at various youth levels up to and including Under-21 level while she has already briefly played in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League during her time with former club Arsenal.
Lewes have now recruited as many players as they released at the end of last season with the squad boasting plenty of strength in depth.
