Arsenal have completed the signing of Norwegian international midfielder Frida Maanum according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 22-year-old joins The Gunners from Swedish club Linköpings FC where she has spent the last four years.
Maanum started her senior footballing career with Norwegian club Lyn 1896 at the age of just 15 before going on to enjoy her first taste of Toppserien football with Stæbeck in 2017. The player soon moved to Sweden where she joined Linköpings FC. The midfielder won the Damallsvenskan title during her time in Sweden along with two Swedish Cups. Maanum featured in two UEFA Women’s Champions League campaigns with LFC.
On the international stage, Maanum has been capped by Norway on 38 occasions at senior level while she has scored three goals. The player was a member of the Norwegian squads for the UEFA Women’s EURO in 2017 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.
After sealing her move to latest club Arsenal, Maanum said “It’s an honour to sign for a club like Arsenal. The history speaks for itself and I just can’t wait to put on that shirt for the first time.”
Maanum becomes the fourth signing at Arsenal so far this summer. She joins Mana Iwabuchi, Nikita Parris and Simone Boye Sorensen at Meadow Park.
