Former Lewes midfielder Mollie Rouse has joined their FA Women’s Championship rivals London City Lionesses according to reports on The Pride’s official website.
The 22-year-old former England youth international spent time with The Rookettes last season but she will turn out for Melissa Phillips’ London City Lionesses this term.
Rouse made eight appearances for Lewes in the FA Women’s Championship including an outing in their 3-2 home defeat to London City Lionesses in mid-February. Despite being on the losing side, she impressed London City Lionesses boss Phillips enough to be offered a deal.
After completing her move to Princes Park, Rouse said “After conversations with the staff and girls, it was evident this was a club with huge ambition. I knew right away it would be an environment where I will be challenged and encourage to develop on and off the pitch. I am really excited to get going”
Rouse grew up in the academy system at Aston Villa before being a member of their squad in the old FA Women’s Super League 2. A four-year stint in the United States followed before the player’s short term move to Lewes.
The midfielder is London City Lionesses’ ninth addition of the summer transfer window.
