Liverpool forward Crompton re-joins Blackburn Rovers

Teenage forward Farah Crompton has completed a return to Blackburn Rovers according to reports on the Lancashire club’s official website.

The 19-year-old attacker spent her youth with Rovers’ Regional Talent Club (RTC) before joining then-Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Liverpool.

Crompton netted 13 goals in two seasons for The Reds at academy level. The player never got the opportunity to test herself in the senior squad during her time on Merseyside.

The youngster will now be hoping to get a taste of FA Women’s Championship football after re-joining Rovers. After completing her move to the Sir Tom Finney Stadium, the player said “I can’t wait for the season to get started.

“I’m looking forward to helping the team score more goals than they did last season.

“I want to score lots of goals myself as well as helping my teammates do the same.”

Crompton is the fifth summer addition at Rovers. The young forward joins Chloe Dixon, Hannah Coan, Mia Parry and Megan Hornby in moving to the Sir Tom Finney Stadium in the current transfer window.

Manager Gemma Donnelly looks set to again be working with a youthful group this year with four of her five summer signings being under the age of 22. Her biggest challenge is likely to be developing her youngsters into household names at FA Women’s Championship level, something which she has achieved in past seasons.
