Two of Arsenal’s home fixtures in this season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League will be hosted at the Emirates Stadium according to reports on The Gunners’ official website.
Jonas Eidevall’s side hosted Chelsea in N5 on Sunday in ‘The Mind Series’ but that won’t be the only appearance for Arsenal’s women’s team at the Emirates Stadium this season.
The club have today confirmed that Arsenal’s league fixtures against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will also be played at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners face Chelsea on the opening weekend of the season. The game will provisionally kick-off at 3pm on Sunday 5 September. The home North London derby against Spurs is currently scheduled in for Sunday 27 March.
Arsenal’s meeting with champions Chelsea is one of three Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixtures to be staged at the men’s stadiums on the opening weekend of the season. Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that they will take on West Ham United at The Amex Stadium while Spurs this morning confirmed that they will face Birmingham City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The opening weekend of Barclays FA Women’s Super League action will see fans present at every game for the first time since February 2020.
