PREVIEW: Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal

The Mind Series returns this afternoon with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal set to contest a pre-season friendly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Arsenal featured in the first game of the series last weekend when a much-changed side defeated a Chelsea team with a similar number of absentees 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Both Spurs and Arsenal are set to be without a number of players this afternoon due to Olympic Games involvement, although the match will allow fans to watch some new signings in action.

Spurs boss Rehanne Skinner will be without Gold Medalist Shelina Zadorsky while new signing Kyah Simon and midfielder Ria Percival will also be missing. Spurs fans are likely to be given the first opportunity to see new signings Cho So-hyun, Tinja-Riikka Korpela, Maeva Clemaron, Molly Bartrip, Chioma Ubogagu and Asmita Ale in action.

New Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall will watch his side live for the very first time after missing last weekend’s win over Chelsea due to quarantine. The Gunners lost Jordan Nobbs to an ankle injury in that match and she will not feature at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this afternoon. She joins Viktoria Schnaderbeck and Malin Gut in the treatment room. Arsenal’s nine Olympians will also miss the game either through rest or due to involvement in the latter stages of the tournament.

Like last weekend, Arsenal are set to have a number of youngsters in their squad including Freya Jupp who netted a superb winning goal against Chelsea.

The North London derby fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 4.45pm. Fans who are not attending the match can buy a matchday pass for Spurs TV which is priced at £7.99.
