Brighton & Hove Albion have been handed a significant boost with midfielder Inessa Kaagman having today penned a new one-year contract with the club according to reports on The Seagulls’ official club website.
The 25-year-old Dutch international midfielder joined Albion last summer after leaving Everton and she went on to play a significant role for Hope Powell’s side.
Kaagman netted eight goals in 22 games for Albion in last season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League as she ended her first campaign with the Sussex club as their top goalscorer.
It has today been confirmed that Kaagman has extended her stay with Albion for another season. After securing the player’s services for a second campaign, Albion boss Powell said “Inessa has made such a big impression in her first season, and we’re delighted she’s agreed to be part of what we’re trying to achieve at the club.
“Not only does she score goals, but she can play in a variety of positions and brings experience and calmness to the team. She is a great role model for the younger players and we feel she can have an even bigger impact with us. I’m looking forward to working with her again this season.”
Kaagman becomes the fifth player to extend her contract at The People’s Pension Stadium this summer. Megan Walsh, Victoria Williams, Danique Kerkdijk and Maisie Symonds have also agreed fresh terms.
