Manchester United’s preparations for the new season continued with a routine 5-0 victory over Scottish Women’s Premier League club Rangers this evening.
Marc Skinner’s side followed up last weekend’s victory over Aston Villa with a resounding win against The Gers at the Rangers Training Centre in a game which was played out in-front of a number of returning Manchester United fans.
Katie Zelem’s sublime free-kick gave Manchester United an early lead in Dunbartonshire before summer signing Vilde Bøe Risa played in Lucy Staniforth to fire in a second goal for The Red Devils.
It was Zelem who was again on target early in the second half when she struck another impressive effort from range before Kirsty Hanson continued her excellent form in pre-season with a goal, her fifth goal contribution in three warm-up games.
Leah Galton rounded-off the scoring late on after being teed up by Brazilian international attacker Ivana Fuso.
Manchester United are enjoying a week-long training camp north of the border following recent home pre-season friendlies against Liverpool and Aston Villa. The club are set to complete their pre-season programme next weekend when they face Barclays FA Women’s Super League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on neutral territory at Loughborough University.
