PREVIEW: Aston Villa v Arsenal

Early Barclays FA Women’s Super League leaders Arsenal will be hoping to continue their winning start when they travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa this evening.

The Gunners have won three out of three under new head coach Jonas Eidevall, they are one of just two sides still holding 100% winning records this weekend.

Aston Villa go into the fixture unbeaten themselves after collecting seven points from an available nine so far this season. Head coach Carla Ward will again be without Republic of Ireland international attacker Ruesha Littlejohn for this evening’s match with the player rebuilding her fitness following injury while there are concerns over one other unnamed player.

Arsenal head coach Eidevall rotated his squad for the midweek North London derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup. As a result, recalls are likely to be handed to several players including Manuela Zinsberger, Frida Maanum, Kim Little, Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema. Simone Boye Sørensen and Malin Gut remain sidelined with their respective injuries.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Aston Villa and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 5.15pm with tickets available for fans to purchase throughout the day by clicking here.
