Chelsea boss Hayes added to Barclays FAWSL’s Hall of Fame

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has become the fourth inductee to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s Hall of Fame.

The announcement was made via an official press release from The Football Association this lunchtime. Hayes joins Fara Williams MBE, Rachel Yankey OBE and Kelly Smith MBE in the Hall of Fame.

Hayes has been coaching in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League with Chelsea since 2012. She has overseen the development of The Blues’ women’s team, helping them to become one of the greatest forces in world football. The 44-year-old has won four league titles, more than any other manager, while Chelsea reached the UEFA Women’s Champions League final for the very first time last season under Hayes’ guidance.

Speaking following the announcement, Kelly Simmons, Chair of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Hall of Fame panel, said “Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest individual honour offered by the league and I am delighted that Emma has been inducted. Her record is incredible, but she’s so much more than that. She’s a great ambassador for the league, who works tirelessly behind the scenes, whilst also encouraging the development of coaches.

“She’s taken her knowledge into the broadcast world to become a great pundit, and I feel we are really lucky to have her in the league and recognised in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Hall of Fame.

A dedicated website to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Hall of Fame has also launched to coincide with the announcement of the inductees, which can be found at wslhalloffame.thefa.com.  You can keep up with the latest league news on the Barclays FA WSL Twitter page.
