FA Women’s Championship leaders Durham will be looking to record a fifth consecutive league victory when they face London City Lionesses at Maiden Castle on Sunday.
The Wildcats have taken 15 points from an available 18 so far this season but latest opponents London City Lionesses have their own promotion ambitions after significantly strengthening their squad over the summer.
Durham boss Lee Sanders could opt to make changes to both his system and his starting XI following his side’s spirited 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup. Forward Liz Ejupi could return to the squad after missing that match while Lauren Briggs and Bridget Galloway may be considered for recalls. The Wildcats remain without long term absentee Nicki Gears.
London City Lionesses boss Melissa Phillips is likely to offer a recall to defender Kenni Thompson against Durham after she dropped to the bench for the FA Women’s Continental League Cup tie against West Ham United. The current condition of injured trio Hayley Nolan, Alli Murphy and Lily Agg is unknown while Charlotte Fleming was a notable absentee from the squad for the West Ham United game.
