PREVIEW: HB Køge v Arsenal

Arsenal will be hoping to take another step towards qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League’s knockout stage when they travel to Denmark to face HB Køge tomorrow evening.

The Gunners have won one and lost one in the group stage but back-to-back games against group minnows HB Køge provides Jonas Eidevall’s side with a great opportunity to progress.

The hosts go into the match having lost both of their opening fixtures in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage. HB Køge defeated Sparta Prague 3-0 on aggregate in Round 2 to qualify for this stage of the competition. Forward Cornelia Kramer netted two of those goals but Republic of Ireland international attacker Kyra Carusa could be the preferred option to lead the attack as the Danes plan to catch Arsenal on the counter.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Jen Beattie, Viktoria Schnaderbeck and Tobin Heath will all miss this fixture. The trio remain sidelined with their respective injuries alongside long term absentee Malin Gut. Vivianne Miedema is likely to return to the starting XI while Jordan Nobbs will also be hoping for a recall.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group fixture between HB Køge and Arsenal kicks-off at 5.45pm tomorrow evening and will be available for fans to stream live on DAZN.
