FA Women’s National League North club Burnley have signed youngster Meg Boydell on a dual registration basis from Blackburn Rovers.
The 21-year-old can play either in the full-back positions or in midfield and will now continue her development with Burnley in addition to parent club Blackburn Rovers.
Burnley announced the deal via a post on their official club Twitter account earlier this afternoon.

Boydell spent her youth on the books of Merseyside giants Liverpool and she was a regular in their WSL Academy side before making the move to Blackburn Rovers ahead of the 2020/2021 season. It was a tough first campaign at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium for the England youth international with Boydell making just two appearances for Blackburn Rovers in the FA Women’s Championship. The player was an unused substitute on 15 occasions.
Boydell is yet to make an appearance for Blackburn Rovers this season and she will be hoping to get some vital playing experience under her belt with Burnley during her period under dual registration.
Burnley have named Boydell in their squad for their Vitality Women’s FA Cup second round tie at AFC Fylde this afternoon.
