West Ham United have completed the signing of Arsenal midfielder Halle Houssein on a dual-registration basis according to reports on The Hammers’ official website.
The 17-year-old is rated very highly by The Gunners but is in need of some game time to help push her on in her senior development.
Houssein made her senior Arsenal debut in their 4-0 victory over Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in September. She came off the bench to play the final four minutes of the match. The player has since been an unused substitute for Jonas Eidevall’s side.
After completing her move to The Chigwell Construction Stadium, Houssein said “I’m delighted to join West Ham United, it’s such a family club and everyone here has been really welcoming. The intensity has been really high in training so it’s been good.
“I’m an aggressive player, I like to run a lot and work hard for the team. I like to win the ball back and play through balls and long passes.
“I’m really looking forward to developing here and learning from the world class players at the club.”
The terms of the deal mean that Arsenal can call upon Houssein for their WSL Academy team if needed. The midfielder has made six WSL Academy League appearances for The Gunners so far this season.
Houssein could be in-line to make her West Ham United debut on Sunday when The Hammers travel to The Hive to face London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
