Manchester United will meet neighbours Manchester City in the fifth round of this season’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
The draw for the fifth round took place live on talkSPORT 2’s Women’s Football Weekly this evening with former Tottenham Hotspur defender Jenna Schillaci pulling out the balls.
The ‘Tie of the Round’ undoubtedly takes place in the North West with Marc Skinner’s Manchester United side facing their local rivals Manchester City. That tie will see the pair meet for the fourth time this season, the two clubs meet in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League at The Academy Stadium in a couple of weeks’ time.
Another eye-catching tie sees FA Women’s Championship leaders Liverpool host Barclays FA Women’s Super League leaders Arsenal at Prenton Park while two other second tier clubs, Charlton Athletic and Durham, will host top tier sides Everton and Birmingham City.
In addition to the Manchester derby, there are two other all-Barclays FA Women’s Super League ties with Reading hosting West Ham United and Leicester City travelling to Chelsea.
The eight fifth round ties are scheduled to take place over the weekend of 26-27 February 2022.
