Durham and Bristol City will be hoping to keep their slim promotion hopes alive when the pair contest their latest FA Women’s Championship fixture at Maiden Castle on Sunday.
The hosts are 10 points adrift of long time league leaders Liverpool while Bristol City have a 12-point deficit to cut, although they do have a game in hand.
Durham manager Lee Sanders continues to be without the services of forward Nicki Gears who remains sidelined with a long term injury. The Wildcats are not thought to have any fresh injury concerns following last weekend’s 2-1 win at London City Lionesses and manager Sanders could opt to keep faith with the majority of the team which started that match.
Lauren Smith’s ever-improving Bristol City team arrive in the North East having taken seven points from their last three league matches on the road. The Robins have been relatively injury-free in recent weeks which has contributed to their good form. Head coach Smith is likely to have another strong squad available this weekend with Bristol City not thought to be nursing any major injuries.
The FA Women’s Championship fixture between Durham and Bristol City is scheduled to kick-off at 12pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets remain available online by clicking here while card only turnstiles will also be in operation on matchday.
