Manchester City v Manchester United – Stat Attack

Manchester bragging rights will be on the line on Sunday when Manchester City face Manchester United at The Academy Stadium.

The two clubs played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture in a rollercoaster match which saw Manchester City play almost an hour with 10 players.

Manchester United still searching for first league derby win

This will be the fifth Manchester derby in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League with the red half of Manchester still looking to beat their rivals for the very first time in the competition (D2 L2). Both of their defeats have come away from home.

The Red Devils in best shape to take on The Cityzens

Manchester United are the only side yet to lose away from home in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season (P6 W3 D3) while they have conceded the joint-fewest goals of any side on the road, alongside Arsenal (4).

Manchester United came out on top in Conti Cup

In all competitions, Manchester United have beaten Manchester City in two of the eight previous clashes (D3 L3). Both of their victories have come at home in FA Women’s Continental League Cup matches, their most recent success being a 2-1 win in November 2021.

Corners could be key

Manchester United have scored six goals from corner situations in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season, the most of any side. Manchester City on the other hand have conceded four goals from corner situations in the competition this season, the second-worst record in the entire division.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester City and Manchester United kicks-off at 12.30pm on Sunday.
