Blackburn Rovers appoint former Burnley boss Bee as first team coach

Blackburn Rovers have appointed Matt Bee as a first team coach according to reports on the Lancashire club’s official website.

The 27-year-old was most recently in charge of FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club Burnley. Bee worked with The Clarettes over a five-year spell. He worked as a female development manager and first team manager, helping Burnley to establish themselves as one of the major forces in the third tier.

Bee has been out of work since leaving Burnley in mid-December. Details of his departure were not publicised, however, Burnley put their best wishes on record.

Bee has now secured his place on the Blackburn Rovers coaching staff as a first team coach working under manager Gemma Donnelly. He will also oversee the club’s Regional Talent Centre (RTC) as part of his role. Bee’s arrival at Blackburn Rovers strengthens their coaching team and could help the club further develop as they look to climb the FA Women’s Championship table. The Lancashire club have endured a disappointing campaign so far but they have plenty of talent in their ranks to turn their form around.

It has been reported that Bee started work with Blackburn Rovers during the last fortnight and he will therefore immediately be present in the dugout alongside manager Donnelly.
