Liverpool sign Manchester City goalkeeper Keating

Liverpool have completed the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Khiara Keating.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this afternoon.

The 22-year-old stopper joins Liverpool after leaving Manchester City upon the expiry of her contract at The Joie Stadium.

Keating came through the youth system at Manchester City. She made her debut for the club in January 2022 in a Subway Women’s League Cup tie against Leicester City. In 2023/2024, Keating established herself as Manchester City’s first-choice goalkeeper. She was given the opportunity by head coach Gareth Taylor, who she is now re-uniting with at Liverpool. Throughout her time at Manchester City, Keating made 65 appearances for the club in all competitions.

On the international stage, Keating has one cap to her name for England at senior level.

After joining Liverpool, Keating said “I think everyone knows Liverpool worldwide. It’s such a big club and I think the women’s team is striving for greatness.

“I think the style of football that they play, they actually try to play – which suits me and my position.

“I think they’re just going in the right direction and [it is] a project that I want to be
part of.”

Keating is Liverpool’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
