PREVIEW: Liverpool v Arsenal

Liverpool will be hoping to cause the shock of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup’s fifth round when they face Barclays FA Women’s Super League leaders Arsenal at Prenton Park on Sunday.

The Reds look on course for a return to the top flight next season and this weekend’s tie hands Matt Beard’s side an early opportunity to show that they are ready for that transition.

Liverpool go into this weekend’s match without long term absentees Rylee Foster and Rianna Dean while Ashley Hodson could also be missing. Manager Beard is likely to field his strongest XI with Liverpool currently boasting a comfortable lead in the FA Women’s Championship and under no real pressure at this stage.

Arsenal make the long trip to Merseyside without the services of defender Lotte Wubben-Moy who continues to nurse the injury which ruled her out of the Arnold Clark Cup. The player is expected to return to fitness by the time that The Gunners resume Barclays FA Women’s Super League action. Head coach Jonas Eidevall could use the game to make some slight adjustments to his team.

The Vitality Women’s FA Cup fifth round tie between Liverpool and Arsenal kicks-off at 12pm on Sunday. Tickets are available and can be purchased by clicking here.
