Arsenal will be hoping to take another step towards Wembley when they face second tier side Coventry United in the quarter-finals of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup at the LV Bet Stadium on Friday evening.
The Gunners were runners-up in last season’s competition and the last remaining FA Women’s Championship club in this year’s tournament stands in their way of another semi-final appearance.
Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that Brazilian defender Rafaelle Souza remains sidelined through injury but United States international forward Tobin Heath is expected to return. Eidevall could opt to make changes to his starting XI given the gruelling run of fixtures ahead, although he is unlikely to offer any debuts to players from the club’s WSL Academy League team.
Coventry United continue to be without defender Anna Wilcox who is out for the long term while the condition of Destiney Toussaint and Andria Georgiou is unknown. Manager Jay Bradford could opt to keep faith with the majority of the side which battled so bravely to record a goalless draw against Durham at Maiden Castle last weekend.
The Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-final tie between Arsenal and Coventry United at the LV Bet Stadium is scheduled to kick-off at 7pm on Friday evening.
