Arsenal will be aiming to close the gap on Barclays FA Women’s Super League leaders Chelsea to just one point when they face North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The fixture is Arsenal’s game in hand on The Blues and a draw or better against Spurs will take the title race into the final day of the season.
Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall revealed in his pre-match press conference that midfielder Jordan Nobbs will not play again this season. The 29-year-old sustained a knee injury in The Gunners’ 7-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday which could yet threaten her place in the England squad for this summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO. Mana Iwabuchi and Rafaelle Souza are both doubtful for the game, although the former has the better chance of making the squad.
Tottenham Hotspur make the short trip across North London without loan defender Viktoria Schnaderbeck who is ineligible to face her parent club. Ria Percival and Kit Graham are sidelined with long term injuries and will again be missing.
The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur kicks-off at 7.15pm on Wednesday evening. Tickets remain available and can be purchased by clicking here.
