The prospect of a record attendance being recorded for this year’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup final has moved a step closer with 40,000 tickets having now been sold.
Current holders Chelsea face Manchester City in this season’s final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 15 May.
The record attendance for a Vitality Women’s FA Cup final came back in 2018 when Chelsea defeated Arsenal 3-1 at the national stadium in front of a crowd of 45,423. That record could be smashed this year with The Football Association confirming that 40,000 tickets have been sold with 11 days to go until the final takes place.

Chelsea defeated London rivals Arsenal 3-0 in last season’s final to lift the Vitality Women’s FA Cup for the third time in their history. Fran Kirby opened the scoring early on before Sam Kerr added a second half brace. This year’s final opponents Manchester City have also won the trophy three times, they have been successful in three of the last five seasons.
Chelsea and Manchester City also contested this year’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup final at The Cherry Red Records Stadium in Wimbledon. The Cityzens came from behind to win 3-1 as they ended Chelsea’s two-year grip on the trophy.
