Former Bristol City defender Murray joins Racing Louisville

Former Bristol City defender Satara Murray has signed for National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Racing Louisville according to reports on their official website.

The 28-year-old centre-back spent one year with The Robins in which she made 21 appearances for the club in the FA Women’s Championship. Murray was one of five players to leave Bristol City at the end of the season.

With Murray being a free agent, it has today been confirmed that the player has signed for Racing Louisville. The defender has signed an initial two-year deal Stateside. Murray will be available for selection for her new club from 1 June.

After joining Racing Louisville, Murray said “I’m so excited to be here and hope to bring a championship home to Louisville. It’s a great team and a great club with great facilities. I’m excited to get started.”

Murray is no stranger to the American game. The Jamaican international started out in the United States with Lonestar ’93, Pali Blues and Washington Spirit Reserves before spending her college career with the North Carolina Tar Heels. At senior level, the defender has featured for Houston Dash and FC Austin Elite. Outside of the United States, Murray has played in England with Liverpool while she also enjoyed a spell with Norwegian club Kolbotn.

With latest club Bristol City, Murray was one of the most consistent performers this season and she will be keen to now transfer her qualities to new side Racing Louisville.
