Defender Miller signs new Sheffield United deal

Sheffield United defender Lara Miller has signed a contract extension with the club for next season.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official Sheffield United press release this afternoon.

The 20-year-old defender joined The Blades from their FA Women’s Championship rivals Lewes in January. Miller has made five appearances for Neil Redfearn’s side to date, winning four of those games. The youngster is set for an exciting future in the elite game and she will be hoping to kick on next season with Sheffield United after extending her deal at The Technique Stadium.

After signing on again with The Blades, Miller said “I’m very pleased to have signed for next season and have the chance to build on my time here so far. I’m really grateful to Redders for giving me the opportunity to join the club in January and trusting me in different roles towards the end of last season.

“It’s been good for me to get those few months under my belt as now I feel settled going into pre-season and I’m ready to push on with the team. I’m hungry to play my part in helping the team move forwards and for me to continue growing and learning from all the experience of all the players and staff that I have around me here.”

Miller has joined Courtney Sweetman-Kirk, Maddy Cusack, Charlotte Newsham and Tamara Wilcock in signing a new deal with Sheffield United in the close season.
