London City Lionesses goalkeeper Pedersen signs new deal

London City Lionesses goalkeeper Anna Pedersen has signed a new contract with the club for next season.

The Pride announced their latest contract news via an update on their official club website this evening.

The 20-year-old stopper joined London City Lionesses from Barclays Women’s Super League club Everton last summer. She moved to the South East after featuring for her former club at WSL Academy League level. Pedersen was named on the bench for Everton at senior level on a couple of occasions during her time on Merseyside.

Pedersen provided cover for first choice goalkeeper Shae Yanez in her first season at Princes Park. The keeper was named on the bench on 14 occasions but she is still awaiting her senior footballing debut.

After signing on again with London City Lionesses, Pedersen said “I’m very excited to be staying at LCL for the upcoming season.

“I can’t wait to get back at it and to keep pushing on developing as a player and as an individual, as well as reaching our team goals at this ambitious club!”

With London City Lionesses having now agreed new terms with Yanez and Pedersen, head coach Melissa Phillips looks to have completed her ‘Goalkeeper’s Union’ for 2022/2023 with further changes to that area being unlikely.
