Midfielder Bruton signs one-year contract extension at Charlton Athletic

Midfielder Lauren Bruton has signed a one-year contract extension with Charlton Athletic according to reports on The Addicks’ official club website.

The 29-year-old moved to The Oakwood last summer after leaving Barclays Women’s Super League side Reading. Bruton suffered some bad luck with injuries and the player had to wait until the second half of the season to make her long-awaited debut.

Bruton made six appearances for Charlton Athletic in all competitions this season while she is still awaiting her first goal for the club. With the player having signed a one-year contract extension with the South East Londoners, Bruton will be hoping to really add value to the Charlton Athletic squad in 2022/2023.

After signing on with The Addicks until next summer, Bruton said “I am delighted to have extended my contract with Charlton. I had a tough first year here with injuries but I’m really looking forward to helping the team progress and achieve more than last year. It’s going to be a big year for the club and I’m excited to get started.”

Charlton Athletic have confirmed that Bruton will captain the side again next season after initially being handed the armband in her first season with the club.
