Spurs midfielder Clémaron joins Swiss club Servette FCCF

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the news that midfielder Maéva Clémaron has completed a move to Swiss club Servette FCCF.

The North Londoners confirmed the transfer via a post on their official club website this morning.

It has been reported that Clémaron has opted to move to Servette FCCF in a bid to progress on a dual-career path. The French midfielder is set to combine her off-field skills as an architect with playing football in the Swiss Nationalliga A.

Clémaron joined Tottenham Hotspur last summer after leaving their Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Everton. The midfielder featured in 21 of The Lilywhites’ 22 games in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season. Only Molly Bartrip and Rachel Williams made more appearances for Spurs in the top flight in 2021/2022.

Four players have now departed the North London club so far this summer. Clémaron has added her name to an exit list which also contains Josie Green, Angela Addison and veteran forward Williams. The quartet played more than 70 matches between them for Spurs in 2021/2022 and head coach Rehanne Skinner will arguably need to replace all four players in this summer’s transfer market.

Spurs’ fifth-place finish in the 2021/2022 Barclays Women’s Super League was the highest-ever league placing in the club’s history.
