Midfielder Izzy Dalton has signed a new contract with Lewes for the 2022/2023 season.
The 24-year-old Barnsley-born midfielder made a real impact for Lewes this season after joining the club last summer. Dalton featured in all 22 Barclays Women’s Championship games for The Rookettes, scoring two goals and providing some real quality from the midfield areas.
Dalton could be a real talent for new Lewes boss Scott Booth next season and the club have therefore moved to retain the player’s services for another year.
After signing on again at The Dripping Pan, Dalton said “I’m happy and grateful to be extending my stay at Lewes.
“This club embodies so many qualities you can’t find elsewhere and the ambitions of the club align with my own.
“I am excited to get another opportunity to work alongside Scott (Booth) and to see what the new season brings.”
Dalton’s new deal is the latest of a number of contract extensions at Lewes so far this summer. The midfielder is the fifth Lewes player to sign on for 2022/2023 with the Sussex club having also agreed terms with Ellie Hack, Ellie Mason, Paula Howells and Amelia Hazard. Further contract extensions are expected to be announced by the club in the coming days.
