Sheffield United goalkeeper Nina Wilson has signed a new contract with the club for next season.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news this afternoon via an official club press release from Sheffield United.
The 23-year-old Londoner joined The Blades last summer following a spell at their Barclays Women’s Championship rivals London City Lionesses. Wilson was largely an understudy to first-choice Sheffield United goalkeeper Fran Kitching this season but she did make four appearances for the South Yorkshire club in all competitions in which she kept one clean sheet.
Wilson will be hoping to increase her challenge for a regular place in the Sheffield United first team after signing a contract extension with the club.
After signing on again with The Blades, Wilson said “I couldn’t be happier to be staying, Sheffield feels like home now, I love this team and city. I’m happy with the work I’ve been doing with Redders and the goalkeeper coaches this past year, my game feels the best overall it has ever been and I’m here now to build on that and make my mark on the team.
“The league is going to be very competitive this year and I’m excited to get going and step up to the challenge.”
Wilson becomes the 11th Sheffield United player to sign on for 2022/2023. She follows Courtney Sweetman-Kirk, Maddy Cusack, Charlotte Newsham, Tamara Wilcock, Lara Miller, Mia Enderby, Bex Rayner, Alethea Paul, Georgia Walters and Chenè Muir in signing a new deal with The Blades.
