Lewes goalkeeper Laura Hartley has signed a new contract with the Barclays Women’s Championship club for 2022/2023.
The Rookettes announced the news today via a post on their official club Twitter account.
Hartley has spent the best part of the last two-and-a-half seasons with Lewes. She initially moved to the club on loan from neighbours Brighton & Hove Albion in 2019/2020 before joining The Rookettes on a permanent deal the following summer. Hartley has made five Barclays Women’s Championship appearances for Lewes so far and she has provided some reliable cover for first choice keeper Tatiana Saunders.
The youngster will now have the opportunity to develop her game further with Lewes after signing a new deal.
After signing on again at The Dripping Pan, Hartley said “Lewes is a club with good vibes and good people; the environment allows players to develop on and off the pitch which is what makes this club so special.
“The vision and ambition shown by both Scott (Booth) and Kelly (Lindsey) for the club has left me excited for this season and I can’t wait to get started.”
Hartley’s new deal comes off the back of Lewes making midfielder Josie Longhurst their first new signing of the summer. New boss Booth looks set to have a large squad available to him for the new season, although there is still space for further contract renewals and new signings.
The excellent Laura Hartley👐stays with us for the 2022-23 season as we continue to build the squad.
