Birmingham City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Lucy Thomas on a free transfer.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Birmingham City this evening.
The 22-year-old joins the Blues on a free transfer after leaving former club Coventry United earlier in the day. Thomas spent one year with The Red and Greens in which she helped the club to make a dramatic late escape from relegation in the final moments of the 2021/2022 season. The keeper made 13 league appearances for Coventry United after joining the club from London City Lionesses last summer.
After completing her move to St Andrew’s, Thomas said “It’s exciting to be here. The club has really big ambitions this season and they align with mine so I’m excited to get going.
“I want to be the best keeper I can be and the best keeper in this league so that’s why Blues was the place for me.”
Thomas is Birmingham City’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window. Blues boss Darren Carter has also added Siobhan Wilson, Martha Harris and Mollie Green to his squad during the close season. The Birmingham City squad is looking stronger and stronger with every incoming transfer.
