Leicester City loan Manchester United midfielder Jones

Leicester City have completed the signing of Manchester United midfielder Carrie Jones on a season-long loan deal according to reports on The Foxes’ official club website.

The 18-year-old has been in and around the Manchester United first team squad in the last couple of seasons but the player is in desperate need of game time.

Jones was named in the Manchester United squad on 15 occasions last season in the Barclays Women’s Super League but she was handed just three substitute appearances for The Red Devils. The midfielder is tipped for a bright future in the game and she now has the opportunity to develop with loan club Leicester City.

After securing her loan move to The King Power Stadium, Jones said “I am really pleased and excited to get started. I am very impressed with Belvoir Drive, and I can’t wait to get going. The facilities here are really good and that shows how well they are supported in the women’s game – it’s a huge advantage that LCFC Women have.

“I am really excited to work with Lydia Bedford. What she’s done for this team over the last couple of months has been positive. She wants to take this team to the next level, and I can’t wait to be a part of that.”

Jones has become the fourth new arrival at Leicester City this summer.
