Former Watford attacker Stobbs joins Lewes

Lewes have completed the signing of attacker Amber-Keegan Stobbs according to reports on The Rookettes’ official club website.

The 29-year-old, who can operate in a range of positions, joins Lewes after spending last season at Watford. Stobbs made 20 appearances for The Golden Girls in the Barclays Women’s Championship but she was unable to prevent the club from being relegated to the FA Women’s National League.

Stobbs is very experienced at Barclays Women’s Championship level. In addition to her spell with Watford, she has also turned out for Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace in the second tier.

After completing her move to The Dripping Pan, Stobbs said “When Lewes said they were interested, I jumped at it. I’ve played at The Dripping Pan various times and Lewes were always a good outfit. It’s a tough place to go and play.

“I love the values of this club. The environment around the place and what we stand for – I’m someone who prides myself on my values and does everything I can to stick to them. I work for a few charities and Lewes really made sense, as they have the same values.

“Equity Sport is one of the charities I work for volunteering – and to find the club that has the same values as that is really rare.”

Stobbs is Lewes’ fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
