Tickets for England’s international friendly fixture against the United States at Wembley Stadium in October have sold out in just 24 hours of them going on sale.
The glamour fixture sees the newly-crowned champions of Europe take on the world champions at the national stadium on Friday 7 October. The game sees England and the United States meet at Wembley for the very first time.
The Football Association put tickets on sale to My England Football members at 2pm yesterday with general sale set to commence this afternoon but it was announced just a short time ago that all general admission tickets have now been sold. The two sides are therefore set to contest their friendly fixture in-front of close to 90,000 fans at Wembley.
England became European champions for the very first time on Sunday when they defeated Germany 2-1 after extra-time in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 final at Wembley. A European Championship record attendance of 87,192 was recorded for that fixture. That crowd could now be beaten when England fans cheer their heroes on at Wembley once again in a little over two months’ time.
The Lionesses will first play FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 qualifying matches against Austria and Luxembourg in September. In the highly unlikely event that England do not get a result from one of those two games, the United States fixture would need to be cancelled.
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! 😍
