Lewes have completed the signing of former Coventry United defender Nat Johnson ahead of the 2022/2023 season.
The Rookettes announced the deal via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.
The 28-year-old defender has a wealth of experience at Barclays Women’s Championship level after previously turning out for Leicester City, Sheffield United and latest club Coventry United. Johnson featured in every single league game for Coventry United last season as the club successfully avoided relegation to the FA Women’s National League. The defender will be hoping for a less turbulent campaign with new club Lewes.
After moving to The Dripping Pan, Johnson said “I’m really happy to be here and it’s a club that I’ve played against a few times in the past.
“I’ve heard a lot about the club over the years, and now to be down here and be a part of this community is really great.
“I’m well aware of what this club stands for. Everything they’re doing – fighting for equality and all the other great causes – it’s hard to ignore! As a female footballer, I feel Lewes are leading the way on so many things.”
Johnson is the fifth new arrival of the summer transfer window at Lewes.
