Coventry United have completed the signing of midfielder Merrick Will.
The Red and Greens announced the deal this afternoon via a post on their official club Twitter account.
Will has most recently been playing in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division with Oxford United. Β She made 15 league appearances for The Yellows last season in which she scored two goals.
New Coventry United boss Lee Burch knows Will very well. The pair worked together at former club London Bees. The midfielder made 42 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Championship in a four-season spell with The Bees. Her progress at The Hive was hindered by a couple of lengthy injuries.
Will can also count Millwall Lionesses and Watford amongst her former clubs with the player gaining plenty of second tier experience over the years.
Coventry United boss Burch is expected to be very busy in the coming days as he builds a squad capable of being successful in this season’s Barclays Women’s Championship. Will is the club’s third signing of the summer transfer window following the recent additions of Cara Milne-Redhead and Mia Smith. Just six players are contracted to the club for the coming season therefore lots more squad news will be flowing over the next 10 days.
