Manchester United pair Chloe Williams and Niamh Murphy have joined Blackburn Rovers on a dual-registration basis.
The Red Devils announced the move this afternoon via a post on their official club Twitter account.
Both players will spend the 2022/2023 Barclays Women’s Championship campaign with the Lancashire club. It is thought that Williams and Murphy will be available to train with parent club Manchester United while they could also be selected for WSL Academy League duty should The Red Devils wish to call upon the duo.
Welsh international midfielder Williams is returning to Blackburn Rovers after a successful spell with the club last season. The 21-year-old made five substitute appearances for Gemma Donnelly’s side in last season’s Barclays Women’s Championship. Williams is yet to make her mark in the senior squad at parent club Manchester United.
Defender Murphy is also awaiting her opportunity at Manchester United. The player has been named amongst the substitutes in the first team on a handful of occasions. Murphy is a Scottish youth international with the player having represented her country up to an including Under-19 level.
Both players could be in-line to make their Blackburn Rovers debuts next weekend when the Lancashire club open the season against Sheffield United at Ewood Park.
