Swedish international forward Hurtig joins Arsenal

Arsenal have completed the signing of Swedish international forward Lina Hurtig from Italian club Juventus.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the transfer via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning.

Hurtig arrives in North London having won two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italianas and the Coppa Italia with former club Juventus. She netted 16 goals in all competitions in her two seasons with The Black and Whites.

On the international stage, Hurtig was a member of the Sweden side which reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 earlier this summer. She has netted 19 goals in 58 outings for her national team at senior level.

After completing her move to Arsenal, Hurtig said “It feels so great – I’m very happy to be here. I’ve always, always wanted to play in England, and I’ve always been interested in English football, so it’s super exciting for me to be here. I know Arsenal are a great club, with great players and lots of quality, so I think I will enjoy it here.”

Hurtig is Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall’s second signing of the summer transfer window. The Gunners boss has also brought in goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese in the close season.
