Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur will be bidding to record winning starts to their respective seasons when they meet at The King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Foxes narrowly avoided relegation back to the second tier last season while Spurs flirted with the European qualification places for most of the campaign. Both sides will be hoping to improve on last season’s records in the 2022/2023 Barclays Women’s Super League.
Leicester City manager Lydia Bedford could hand debuts to summer signings Aileen Whelan, Josie Green, Erin Simon, Carrie Jones, Ellen Jones and Demi Vance against Spurs. The Foxes remain without long term absentees Hannah Cain, Lachante Paul and Jess Sigsworth.
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Rehanne Skinner is thought to have no unexpected injuries to contend with. Ria Percival and Kit Graham remain sidelined with their long term injuries but The Lilywhites are otherwise in good health. Skinner may balance the minutes of some of her players after dealing with a couple of knocks following the conclusion of the September international window.
