Everton have revealed the news that forward Toni Duggan is pregnant.

The Blue Girls made the announcement via an update on their official website this evening.

Duggan had been a notable absentee from the Everton squad for their first two Barclays Women’s Super League matches of the new season and the reasons behind her unavailability have now been revealed. Everton have confirmed that Duggan will remain in light training with the club in the early stages of her pregnancy but she will not participate in any competitive action for the remainder of the season.

The forward is currently in her second spell with Everton after re-joining the club in summer 2021. Duggan featured for The Blue Girls in all 22 matches in last season’s Barclays Women’s Super League while she scored two goals. The forward is thought to be under contract with the Merseyside club until next summer.

Duggan very much bleeds blue and white. She previously spent seven years with The Blue Girls at the very start of her career, winning the FA Women’s League Cup and Women’s FA Cup. The player is very much seen as an Everton legend and she will undoubtedly receive the love and support from everyone involved with the club in the lead up to the birth of her first child.
