PREVIEW: Reading v Arsenal

Arsenal will be hoping to continue their excellent start to the new Barclays Women’s Super League season when they travel to the Select Car Leasing Stadium to face Reading on Sunday.

The Gunners have won their opening two league matches while in contrast, this weekend’s opponents Reading have suffered back-to-back defeats and are yet to collect a point.

Reading go into the match without the services of Canadian international Deanne Rose who has a long term injury. Summer signings Brooke Hendrix and Becky Jane are likely to remain sidelined but Justine Vanhaevermaet could return. Youngster Emma Harries will again be available after making a successful comeback from injury.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that defenders Rafaelle Souza and Leah Williamson will be out for an extended period. Neither player will be available for any of The Gunners’ five matches in October. Youngster Teyah Goldie is the North Londoners’ only other absentee.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Reading and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 6.45pm on Sunday evening. Reading have reported that they are expecting a record crowd at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. Tickets for the match remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
