Manchester United have revealed the news that they have already sold more than 20,000 tickets for their Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Aston Villa at Old Trafford later this year.
The Red Devils meet The Villans at ‘The Theatre of Dreams’ on Saturday 3 December 2022.
Tickets have been on-sale for a number of weeks and Manchester United today provided an update confirming that more than 20,000 have been sold. The fixture promises to be a thriller with Marc Skinner’s much-improved Manchester United side taking on an Aston Villa team who are also making great steps forward in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Manchester United’s women’s team have previously played at Old Trafford on two occasions. They made their debut at the venue during the 2020/2021 season when they defeated West Ham United 2-0 in a behind-closed-doors match. The Red Devils returned to ‘The Theatre of Dreams’ in March when they recorded a 3-1 victory over Everton.
An all-time record crowd for a Manchester United Women’s fixture of 20,241 was recorded for the Everton match. That record looks set to be smashed when Aston Villa provide the opposition in December, especially given the large sales window which remains.
