PREVIEW: Arsenal v FC Zürich

Arsenal will be hoping to build on last week’s impressive UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage victory over Lyon when Swiss club FC Zürich provide the opposition at The Emirates Stadium on Thursday evening.

The Gunners defeated the European champions 5-1 at the Groupama Stadium in the South of France. Jonas Eidevall’s side will now come up against the minnows of their group, FC Zürich, in their second match in the group stage.

Arsenal go into the match with no fresh injury concerns. Defenders Leah Williamson, Rafaelle Souza and Teyah Goldie all remain sidelined, the latter having recently returned to training. It is not known whether head coach Eidevall will opt for some squad rotation for his side’s latest match.

FC Zürich go into their latest fixture on the back of a 10-0 victory over Baar in the last-32 of the Swiss Women’s Cup at the weekend. Head coach Inka Grings is again set to be without Swiss international goalkeeper Seraina Friedli who is recovering from a muscle injury while Austrian international midfielder Marie Höbinger has a knee problem.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage match between Arsenal and FC Zürich is scheduled to kick-off at 8pm on Thursday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
