Arsenal boss Eidevall looking forward to Meadow Park return for Everton fixture

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall says that he is looking forward to taking the team back to the LV Bet Stadium in Boreham Wood this weekend and he still sees the venue as home.

The Gunners face Everton in their latest home fixture in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal have played as many home games at the Emirates Stadium this season as they have at their usual home venue in Boreham Wood. When speaking in the pre-match press conference, head coach Eidevall said that he is looking forward to returning to the LV Bet Stadium and he still sees the venue as Arsenal’s home ground.

“Yes, it does (still feel like home),” Eidevall said. “I’m very flexible as a person. I really enjoy it when we’re at the Emirates but I also really enjoy seeing us play in front of the fans at Meadow Park.

“You have to do the best with the hand that you’re dealt. That’s what life is about and we make sure that we enjoy playing at both of our home grounds.”

Latest opponents Everton have shown some signs of progression this season under new head coach Brian Sørensen, although the project on Merseyside is a long-term one. Eidevall went on to say that Everton are playing well with less pressure on their shoulders this year.

He said “They have had a real change in expectations. I’ve only been here for 18 months but when I came, Everton were going to challenge for Champions League qualification and now that’s not really the expectation of that team. I don’t think they have lost a massive amount of players from that team that was going to challenge. I think they have a very good team.

“I think they’re playing with their shoulders down a lot now because they don’t have those expectations on them, which helps their performance. This shows why it’s so important to match expectations and reality.”
