Tottenham Hotspur complete marquee signing of Chelsea forward England

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the marquee signing of Chelsea forward Beth England.

The Lilywhites confirmed the news this afternoon via an update on their official club Twitter account. Spurs have confirmed that England has signed a deal with the club until summer 2026 while she has been handed the number 19 shirt.

News of the deal comes as no surprise with England having been heavily linked with a move to North London for a number of days. The transfer is now complete and England will be looking to help improve a Spurs forward line which ended the last calendar year in poor goalscoring form.

England spent six years with former club Chelsea, making more than 150 appearances for the club in all competitions. The 28-year-old won nine domestic trophies with the South West Londoners including four league titles.

The forward has struggled for starts at Chelsea in recent times. England has made just two starts for The Blues in this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League but she will now be hoping to play an instrumental role for her new club Spurs.

Spurs boss Rehanne Skinner could offer a debut to England when The Lilywhites face Aston Villa in their next match at The Poundland Bescot Stadium on 14 January 2023.
